SAP Developer


PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
The department Technology and Innovation Platform (TIP) Production is responsible for the design, development and implementation of SAPs software production processes and its required tools. This comprises the source code repository with its data structuring, the build and assembly and the deployment to test systems for all SAP technologies besides ABAP, such as Java, C, C++, .Net and mobile technologies like iOS or Android.

You will be part of a team that will be responsible for the availability, scaling and security of our backend systems like Perforce Source Code Repository, Microsoft Team Foundation Server, Redwood Chronacle, Signiant Replication or Nexus Repository Manager. These backends are used by various development teams around the world contributing to each SAP product.

Therefore we are looking for an open-minded person, who is interested in
* Participation in designing large scale production processes
* Work with various SAP proprietary, 3rd party and open source tools
* Continuously improve our services and look for enabling opportunities
* Consult and support development teams with best practices


EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
As a Developer in TIP Production you will be expected to:
* Understand the production landscape
* Develop scripts and tools for the integration of the products into our production processes
* Optimization of the integration and performance of the tools
* Monitor the availability of our systems, analyze failures and find corrective measures
* Ensure scalability and security
* Align with SAP IT as the provider of our basic infrastructure (network, servers, etc.)
* Interact with the tool providers like Perforce Software Inc.
* Integrate new products into our production landscape and introduce them into our processes
* Rollout to SAP TIP Production and SAPs development units

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
* Good Bachelor's or Master's degree or Diploma in Computer Science or related field. BA or similar degrees are also welcome
* Development experience in script programming, e.g. Perl
* At least basic knowledge of Java, C/C++ or .NET
* Experience with system administration of Windows or Unix operating systems
* Experience with a source code management system – preferably Perforce is beneficial
* Basic knowledge of J2EE server technology, a relational database or Active Directory is helpful
* Basic know-how in IT security is an advantage
* Good communication and writing skills in English is required
* Communication skills in German are beneficial, at least willingness to learn German
* As TIP Production is working along LEAN principles you are expected to integrate into an agile team, support creativity and innovation and share learning with other team members
Team oriented with outstanding drive and energy, flexible and willing to learn new subject matters quickly
