YOUR PROFILE:

¨ You own a Bachelor or Master Degree in Computer Science or a comparable qualification.

¨ Additional you have a good knowledge of following technologies: JEE, XML, Web 2.0

¨ Experience in the development of web services and a good knowledge of RDBMS like ORACLE and MySQL is a benefit

¨ You are familiar using standard development environments and frameworks

¨ Consulting, design and implementation skills round off your profile

¨ You like project oriented team work

¨ Fluency in spoken and written English is required, knowledge of German would be perfect

Proteus Europe operating as an employment business, is currently seeking for our client in Germany.

A Java Developer/ Oracle Administrator.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The consultant will primarily contribute to the full life cycle of the application software development, maintenance and support for all services, including web applications integrated in the Web Site and Intranet. Additionally, the consultant will be responsible for administering Oracle Databases and Application Servers used by the applications; maintaining existing PHP applications and will be contributing to the full life cycle of client-server based COTS systems. It is foreseen, that the detailed tasks of the consultant will include as a minimum:

· Design, implement, maintain, test and deliver applications based on Java/JEE and partially using Oracle Universal Content Management System;

· Install, configure, monitor, optimize and administer Oracle Databases;

· Support Oracle database design (schema generation, analysis) and data migration;

· Implement and maintain scripts and/or procedures;

· Install, configure, monitor, optimize and administer Oracle Application Servers;

· Maintain, test and deliver PHP based applications;

· Provide second level support for existing applications, systems and services;

· Gather and document user and system requirements and constraints;

· Document the tasks and deliverables according to working practices;

· Perform the related quality assurance, configuration and change management activities.

· Contribute to project planning and reporting;

PROFILE

In addition to having a university degree in computer science, software engineering, the consultant shall have as a prerequisite:

· At least 5 years experience in the design, implementation, integration and testing of Internet and Intranet applications using J2EE and Oracle databases;

· At least 3 years experience in JSF/Facelets, JSP, Servlets and JPA/Hibernate;

· Knowledge of XML, (X)HTML, CSS, Ajax and JavaScript, XSLT;

· At least 5 years experience in Oracle (10g/11g) database administration;

· Knowledge of Oracle SQL and PL/SQL;

· Experience in Weblogic 11g and Glassfish v2/v3 administration;

· Experience in maintaining PHP applications;

· Knowledge of UML and Design Patterns;

· Knowledge of Windows XP;

· Proven experience in formal documentation, preferably in a ISO 9000 certified project

· High degree of autonomy, good personal communication skills (oral and writing) and strong customer-oriented approach to interact with personnel.

In addition to the above requirements, experience / knowledge in the following areas shall be considered a distinct advantage:

· Knowledge of Oracle Universal Content Management System and its administration;

· Experience in integrating applications in Oracle Universal Content Management System;

· Experience in integrating systems with Web Services/SOAP, LDAP/AD, SMTP;

· Knowledge of IIS, Tomcat;

· Knowledge of Microsoft Access;

· Knowledge of ITIL, in particular with respect to change and configuration management fundamentals and principles;

· The official language for this position is English.
