C++ Software Engineer - Perl - Germany

Our client is looking for an experienced and versatile C++ software engineer to join their team developing innovative GSM and EDGE network products. Our client, based in Germany has an urgent need to fill this role and will be looking for somebody with varied experience in C++ Programming and Software Engineering.
This is a permanent position with excellent benefits - this is a hot role which should not be missed!
Preference will be given to candidates who, while possessing the key telecoms skills, have
sufficiently broad skills and experience to be able make a significant contribution in other areas
when required.

Role/responsibilities

" Production and reviewing of technical specifications and design documentation.

" Unit testing, integration testing and system test planning.

" Task estimating and input to project planning.

The following are essential requirements for this position:

- Good engineering degree

- 2+ years commercial object oriented design and C++ development.

- 2+ years developing software for telecommunications products.

- Development of telecommunications protocol software; experience of at least one

of the following is desired but not necessary: GSM, GPRS/EDGE, UMTS, DECT, TETRA, SS7, ISDN or other

standards-based protocol.

One or more of the following would be an advantage:

- Use of Linux C++ development and test tools.

- Experience of the C++ Standard Template Library (STL).

- Use of UML or similar methodology for design and documentation.

- Experience of developing telecommunications network management software.

- Experience of developing software using:

- TCP/UDP/IP

- Databases, esp. MySQL

- Use of XML and related technologies.
